BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH
Dictionary -- Harlot - a prostitute; whore
Jer 3.3Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.
Notice this first connection in Rev 17.5 we read about a woman who had whore wrote on her forehead, and in Jeremiah 3.3 Israel had a whore's forehead. By comparing scripture
with scripture the identity of the whore of Babylon can be known. But the
question we should be asking is how is Israel a whore ? Why does she have
a whore's forehead ?
Jer 3.8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery
I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah
feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
By reading Jeremiah 3.8 we find out that Israel committed adultery, she was given a bill of divorce and Judah also went and played the whore. This is speaking of the two houses when Israel was divided i.e. House of Israel and House of Judah. So we see some sexual imagery here used to
describe Israel such as adultery, divorce, whore. This is actually a constant theme in the bible Israel being called a harlot which means whore or the word "adultery" being used to describe Israel, we will get to why this is used in a few seconds.
Hosea 4.15 Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Bethaven, nor swear, The LORD liveth.
Ezek 16.35 Wherefore,O harlot, hear the word of the LORD:
36 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was
poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers,
and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy
children, which thou didst give unto them;
37 Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast
taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that
thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and
will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy
nakedness.
(Throughout the old testament God likens himself to a husband and
Israel to his wife, whenever Israel fell into Idolatry it was likened to a
wife committing adultery. That is why we have verses saying things like
and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers
A good example explaining this is Jeremiah 3:9 which says Israel
committed adultery by worshiping graven images made out of rock and wood )
Jeremiah 3:9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom,
that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with
stocks.
In the book of Isaiah, Isaiah the prophet says Jerusalem has become an Harlot
Isaiah 1.21 How is the faithful city become an harlot! it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.
Here is an interesting match Rev 18.24 and Mat 23.37
Rev 18.24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of
saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
Matt 23.37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and
stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have
gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens
under her wings, and ye would not!
Many people say America is the whore of Babylon but America cannot be Babylon because America did not kill the prophets neither does Islam, Islam may slaughter thousands of Christians, but they have never killed the prophets. also many people say it is the Vatican because once upon a time Catholicism killed reformers. But Babylon did indeed kill the Hebrew prophets just as
Christ said they did in Matthew 23.37
1 Thess 2.14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also havesuffered like things of your own countrymen,
even as they have of the Jews:
15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets,
and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to
all men:
16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles hat they might be saved,
to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the
uttermost.
Paul speaks of the church and how they have suffered persecution by their own fellow countrymen, even as they have of the JEWS. Paul then says the Jews killed Christ and their own prophets and that they now persecute the church and they please not God. They even went so far as forbidding Paul to speak to the gentiles, because the Jews wanted an end to this talk of a risen Jesus Christ to the point they would even kill those who spread this message, as Paul himself before conversion killed
many a Christian.
Now some would argue and say, the Jews did not kill Christ it was the Romans who killed Christ. While it is true the Roman soldiers nailed him to the cross, it was the Jews who yelled at Pilate to crucify Christ.
Mk 15.12 And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do unto him whom ye call the King of the Jews?
13 And they cried out again, CRUCIFY HIM.
14 Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, CRUCIFY HIM.
Most people talk about Rev 17.4 the purple and scarlet colors and point to Catholicism or they look at Catholicism and declare the Vatican in Rome is America , but what most people don't know is purple and scarlet were common colors of Israel. Just as green is Islams color. Such as Numbers
4.8 , Exodus 25.1-4 shows purple and scarlet colors. Even the mock Robe the Roman soldiers dressed Christ in connects to this
Matt 27.28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet
robe.
29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it
upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee
before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
If you notice the Romans put on Jesus a scarlet colored robe, but why ?
look at verse 29, they gave him a scarlet colored robe just like they gave him a crown of thorns and mocked him saying "Hail, King of the Jews!" But why did they put a scarlet robe on him ? Because the Jews wore scarlet colored robes, look at the following in the old testament, this also connects as to why they put a crown of thorns on Christ's head, the Romans were mocking the Jews and there scriptures...
Exo 39.26 A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, round about the hem of the robe to minister in; as the LORDcommanded Moses.
27 And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons,
28 And a mitre of fine linen, and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and linen breeches of fine twined linen,
29 And a girdle of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of needlework; as the LORD commanded Moses.
30 And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
Take not of the Robe in Exo 39.26 and the crown in Exo 39.30.
Jerusalem is the whore of Babylon because Israel committed spiritual adultery and worshiped graven images made of wood and stone, even today the Jews worship a female goddess named Mama Shekinah.
why is Babylon used to describe Jerusalem ?
Rev 11.8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
Jesus was crucified in Jerusalem which here is referred to as Sodom and Egypt, the Hebrews came out of Egyptian captivity which is why "Egypt" is used symbolically. Also the Hebrew prophet Isaiah spoke of Sodom in connection with the children of Israel in his writings in Isaiah 1:9-10
Isaiah 1.9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small
remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
10 Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.
We see some connections to Egypt and Sodom and Gomorrah, but what about Babylon ? What connection does Babylon have to the children of Israel ? The answer is they were taken away into Babylonian captivity as found in the writings of the prophet Jeremiah. Scripture will define itself, always has and always will.

Rev 17.16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these
shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall
eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
The whore (Jerusalem) rides the beast (Rome), in the end roman leaders (10) horns hated the whore and made her desolate and naked and yes burnt her with fire !!
Yet the beast Rome turned on her, consider it the judgement of almighty God, just as the scriptures state God can control a king and then control that nation and use it like like a battle axe Jeremiah 51:20.
Jeremiah 51:20 Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms;
Remember the four sore judgements ? The sword, the famine, the beast, the pestilence Ezekiel 14:21
Ezekiel 14:21 For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
God could use any of these judgements against disobedient Israel, the sword is war in which God controls a nation to attack another nation. God was swinging the war club, it was his judgement on disobedient Israel in 70 AD using Rome to fulfill that judgement. And thus fulfilling many different bible prophecies !
Matthew 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
We know this to be true because of the intense heat of the fire by the Romans in 70 AD that chopped down the olive trees and stacked them around the city and the temple, as the fire set by the Romans in 70 AD raged through the sanctuary in the Temple, quantities of silver and gold, which had been placed there for safe-keeping, melted and ran down between the stones. Roman soldiers tore apart the stones to retrieve the gold and silver, literally leaving “not one stone left upon another” as Jesus had foretold as recorded in Matthew 24:2
To John the baptists prophecy !
Matthew 3;9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
3;10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees:therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
But Titus cut down all the trees about Jerusalem, and the crusaders found the country destitute of wood.
--- Orientalisms in bible lands by Edwin Wilbur Rice p. 148
Mark Twain visited Israel in 1867, and published his impressions in Innocents Abroad. He described a desolate country – devoid of both vegetation and human population:“….. A desolate country whose soil is rich enough, but is given over wholly to weeds… a silent mournful expanse…. a desolation…. we never saw a human being on the whole route…. hardly a tree or shrub anywhere. Even the olive tree and the cactus, those fast friends of a worthless soil, had almost deserted the country.”
Under Titus the Romans used many of the trees, the majority of which
were olive trees, they cut down as firewood to set the temple ablaze.
John the baptist had a vision and knew what was to take place in the future of 70 AD in Matthew 3:9-10, he used the olive trees being cut down and used for firewood as an illustration of the falling of the Jews and Jerusalem ! God using pagan Rome as a judgement on the Jews (four sore judgement SWORD), just as he used Babylon as a judgement on the Jews referring to Babylonian captivity.
Matthew 3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
According to " A survey of the new testament" by Professor Robert H Gundry"
p55 During the siege of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, Titus's soldiers crucified as many as five hundred Jews in a day just outside the city walls,in plain view of the people still inside. Execution by beheading and burning at the stake was also practiced.
Further proof Jerusalem is Babylon that cannot be denied !
Jesus Christ himself stated it is impossible for a prophet to die anywhere but in Jerusalem.
Luke 13:33 KJV Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
NIV In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day--for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!
NASB "Nevertheless I must journey on today and tomorrow and the next day; for it cannot be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.
So Jesus says a prophet cannot die outside of Jerusalem. Now you may be saying what does that have to do with anything ?
Revelation 18:24 KJV And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
NLT In your streets flowed the blood of the prophets and of God’s holy people and the blood of people slaughtered all over the world.”
ESV And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on earth.”
NASB "And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and of all who have been slain on the earth."
So Jesus said it's impossible for a prophet to die outside of Jerusalem, yet according to people the prophets are dying in America in Revelation 18:24, in Saudi Arabia in Revelation 18:24, in Iraq in Revelation 18:24, at the Vatican in Revelation 18:24, which means they are calling Christ a liar when Christ said No prophet can die outside of Jerusalem !!! If Christ said a prophet can only die in Jerusalem, and Revelation 18 speaks of Babylon and the prophets are dying in Babylon Revelation 18:24, then that means Jerusalem is 100% mystery Babylon !!!!!!!
Obviously Revelation 18 is a picture of Jerusalem in 70 AD when Rome destroyed the city.
Now someone will probably say HAHAHA we have you now for look at verse 18:24 for the scripture says and of all that were slain upon the earth so what shall you do now HAHAHA ????
Jesus already answered this question as well.
Let's look at what Jesus tells the scribes and Pharisees in Matthew 23:35
Matthew 23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
So let us compare now
Revelation 18:24 KJV And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
Matthew 23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
hmm
18:24 of all that were slain upon the earth
23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth,
Folks this is way too much evidence to simply ignore !!!
And finally we are going to look at some verses from the Jew's Talmud which is considered their Holiest books, Judaism teaches that the Talmud has more authority than even the Tanakh (bible)
Note:’Yashu’ is an acronym for the Jewish curse, ‘May his (Jesus) name be wiped out forevermore.’
“‘Yashu’ (derogatory for ‘Jesus’) is in Hell being boiled in hot excrement.” (Gittin 57a)
Yashu (Jesus) was sexually immoral and worshipped a brick.” (Sanhedrin 107b)
“Yashu (Jesus) was cut off from the Jewish people for his wickedness and refused to repent.” (Sotah 47a)
“Miriam the hairdresser had sex with many men.” (Shabbath 104b, Hebrew Edition only)
“She who was the descendant of princes and governors (the virgin Mary) played the harlot with carpenters.” (Sanhedrin 106a)
Now lets look at some other blasphemous verses of the Talmud
"Yashu (Jesus) and his disciples practiced sorcery and black magic (Sanhedrin 43a)
"Yashu" (Jesus) learned witchcraft in Egypt and, to perform miracles, used procedures that involved cutting his flesh (Shabbos 104b)
Does that not sound familiar ???? Remember the Jews once tried to accuse Christ of performing miracles through the power of Satan, this is in the bible !!!
Matthew 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. Now watch this folks
Matthew 21:33 Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
21:34 And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
21:35 And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
21:36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
21:37 But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
21:38 But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
21:39 And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
21:40 When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
21:41 They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
Now you who is watching this, you know you have never heard truth like this, your church and your preacher have never taught you this much truth, your denomination has never shown you things like this, you should get on your knees and thank almighty God that he sent me to you to show you what the scriptures say.
The Talmud has been held orally since the BC Era, and more was added by the Rabbis over time, the Talmud became written Talmud in 200 AD. When Jesus argued with a Pharisee or Sadducee in the bible it was usually to do with the oral Talmud a tradition of men used to take control over all the Jews. This was the reason Jesus was rejected by the Jews as the messiah and killed because he was against the traditions of the elders and made it known.
The Jews have many unbiblical traditions which go against the bible, such as Adam having sex with all the animals created, found in the pages of the Talmud
Yavamoth 63a - R. Eleazar further stated: What is meant by the Scriptural text, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh?13 This teaches that Adam had intercourse with every beast and animal but found no satisfaction until he cohabited with Eve.
Judaism also teaches that God gathered all nations before him and said who will keep my law ? and all nations said no thanks and walked away, so he chose the Jews who decided to stay. However we know that the bible never teaches such, we know God made a promise with Abraham and that Israel was later rescued from Pharaoh by Moses and God, and later Moses made a covenant with Israel.
Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
In Matthew 15:9 is one of the verses where Jesus is speaking of the oral Talmud, where the pharisees are teaching doctrines of men (Talmud) as commandments from God
The Talmud is also why Peter said the law is a burden because Talmud added fence laws around the law, so not only did the Pharisees and Sadducees and Judaism pick and chose which laws to keep and not to keep, many laws they kept they made a hundred times worse by adding to that law, by putting a fence law around God's law. Acts 15:10 KJV Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
NIV Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear?
NLT So why are you now challenging God by burdening the Gentile believers with a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors were able to bear?
ISV So why do you test God by putting on the disciples' neck a yoke that neither our ancestors nor we could carry?
A yoke is an instrument that goes on the animal for plowing

There are heavy yokes and there are light yokes, Jesus uses the example of the yoke into figurative language in the following passage
Matthew 11:29 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Jesus used many different objects to describe truths in his speeches from yoke, rocks, sand, water, fields, wheat, olive trees etc...Acts 15:10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
Peter in Acts 15:10 speaks of the law which became a burden because of oral Talmud. Let me give an example, the bible in the old testament says one can be put to death for working on the Sabbath such as the man who was picking up sticks to start a fire, this is found in Numbers chapter 15 in the bible.
The oral Talmud took this further than the law had intended, with the fence law, for the pharisees taught that on the Sabbath if a Jew was to drag a chair across the floor that there might be a speck of dust on the floor that could come up and that this was constitute plowing, thus we will have to take you out and stone you to death. Then a pharisee would add in a scripture and combine it with the oral Talmud such as Exodus 34:21
Exodus 34:21 KJV Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest.
NIV "Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest.
NLT "You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but on the seventh day you must stop working, even during the seasons of plowing and harvest.
So in other words a religious man of Judaism could simply quote Exodus 34:21 and then point to the Israelite who dragged the chair accord the room, and state he broke the law by plowing, and then he would be put to death by stoning. And now you know why Christ was so angry while dealing with the pharisees and Sadducees, they were manipulating the law by their oral Talmud because they were adding to the law and taking away from the law !
Deuteronomy 4:2 KJV Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
NLT Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you.
NIV Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you.
ISV Do not add or subtract a thing to what I'm commanding you. Observe the commands of the LORD your God.
I could go on and on about this topic for hours, and quote many more scriptures, but I think it's time we brought it to a close. The way I see it the reason people are not getting the bible is a couple of reasons
1. They don't read it
2. The people who do read it don't have a clue what they are reading and what any of it means so they make up man-made systems of interpretation such as Dispensationalism
3. People generally don't look at history, nor do they look at Judaism or their beliefs and compare things, in fact the average Christian doesn't have a clue what Judaism even teaches, also the average preacher doesn't have a clue what Judaism teaches either.
4. The biggest problem is the denomination itself, each denomination (and there are 40,000 of them), each denomination has their own man-made traditions that you must accept in order to be a part of a group.
So in order to find the truth one must look for it, and cast away the made made traditions of the denomination. The most honest preachers you will find are not the ones who are pastors and want your money (tithe), but are the ones who simply state they are preachers, love reading the bible, study history, and are not shepherding, in other words just someone who is teaching. Steve Gregg comes to mind, he is a preacher but not a pastor, and he does not shepherd a church, in other words he does not set himself up as some all powerful figure who controls people, when Mr. Gregg teaches the bible he actually shows, the various interpretations, declares his own personal feelings on the matter, and then leaves it up to the listeners to decide what they chose to believe.
We all know that the denominational church does not do it like this, for in the denominational churches if you disagree with the preacher you will be in trouble for it and you will either be reprimanded or kicked out of that specific church group and told not to come back, because in the denominational church you have to agree with everything the preachers teaches, disagree and you will be in trouble and can be kicked out of that denomination.
